A villa with a gym in Croatia appeals to anyone who doesn't want to abandon their training routine entirely on holiday – without having to track down a gym in an unfamiliar town each morning. Of our three villas in Kaštel Stari, exactly one has its own gym: Villa Just be Alive. Here's what you can expect, how the room fits in with the sleeping arrangements, and what other ways there are to stay active around the villa.
The gym at Villa Just be Alive
Villa Just be Alive (327 m²) has four bedrooms with king-size box-spring beds and a fifth room that doubles as a gym. The room is air-conditioned and – like all the other rooms – has its own bathroom. That's handy: work out, shower, done, without walking through the house.
We're happy to send you photos of the equipment currently in the room before you book – so you know exactly whether it suits your training. There's no sauna at any of our villas, including Just be Alive.
Gym and bedroom: how it works
The fifth room has a proper full-size box-spring guest bed, just as comfortable as the beds in the other bedrooms. For your planning, that means:
- Up to eight guests: the room stays purely a gym; nobody sleeps there.
- Nine or ten guests: the room is also a bedroom. Best given to someone who gets up early or works out themselves – and agree on training times within the group.
- With the villa next door: if you book Just be Alive together with the neighbouring Villa Just be Light (up to 20 guests), you can arrange the sleeping places so that the gym stays free.
More ways to keep moving around the villa
The gym isn't the only option. Around Just be Alive you'll find:
- Pool: heated 8.50 × 3.50 m saltwater pool, heated from the end of March to October at no extra charge. Honestly: it's too short for serious lap swimming – but ideal for cooling off after a workout.
- Hot tub: separately heated and warm all year round – for recovery in the evening.
- Trampoline: a professional trampoline that adults up to approx. 120 kg can train on too.
- Table tennis in the garden.
- Running: the flat Kaštela waterfront promenade is around 1 km away (10–15 minutes on foot) and links the seven villages over several kilometres – there are plenty of joggers out there in the morning and evening too.
- Hiking: Kozjak, rising behind the village, has around 80 kilometres of waymarked trails, and one path leads straight from Kaštel Stari up to the Malačka saddle. In summer only very early in the morning; ideal from October to May.
Who it suits – and who it doesn't
Well suited to: groups with sporty members, couples who want to train in the morning, remote workers on a long stay (Starlink up to approx. 400 Mbps, workspace available) and anyone who wants to stay active in winter, even when it rains. Less suited to: anyone expecting a fully equipped gym with classes and a large training floor. This is a private room in a holiday villa, not a commercial gym.

- Villa Just be Light – no gym, but table tennis, table football, and right next to Just be Alive.
